"Walk on By" the music of
Burt Bacharach

KristinaKoller2.jpg

What the Press Has to Say...

“Knowing how musically discerning and genius-perfectionist Burt Bacharach was in-studio, I wonder

what he might offer as a reaction to Kristina Koller’s breakthrough, Walk on By. Something tells me that

given the high quality Koller and her fine playmates present, he might just ask to sit in.” - Bebop Spoken Here

"Koller is not afraid to be herself. On her previous projects, a similar attitude was achieved by moving traditional vocal jazz into other categories. By blending in pop or R&B undertones, these former albums, as well as Walk On By, are infused with life, with a smirk and a sway. Bacharach has been updated here while remaining a classic that different generations can enjoy." - All About Jazz

“Koller gives the songs a jaunty, modern makeover, highlighting their timeless appeal. Her delicate and

brilliant treatment of these musical gems prepares them for modern ears, proving that "What the world

needs now"... are indeed timeless lyrics.”- Wild Mercury Rhythm

“Koller’s ability to bridge the gap between the traditional and the modern offers listeners a compelling

journey through reimagined classics. Her vocal delivery and the ensemble’s cohesive interplay breathe

fresh air into the wonderfully arranged tunes.”- The Jazz Page

About Kristina

Always innovative and pushing the limit, Kristina Koller is making her mark in the music world.  As an evolving jazz-centric artist, Kristina has developed into a highly individual songwriter, arranger & vocalist. Koller creates music that crosses generations, while still embracing the history and mood of traditional jazz. She arranges tunes in unique ways, pushing the boundaries of vocal jazz.

In her latest album, ‘Walk On By’, Koller reimagines the Burt Bacharach songbook with intriguing, genre-bending arrangements. Her emotional vocals exhibited on the album are pure and jazzy, showcasing a skillful range of styles across a musical spectrum. The fresh compilation of Bacharach’s songs is another sparkling addition to her body of work. In her debut album ‘Perception’ (released in 2018), Koller breaks through the standard vocal jazz mold and delivers a group of deftly composed originals and reimagined gems, carefully selected with the thematic focus of love and relationships at the forefront of each. On her 2nd album ‘Stronger’ she takes a deep, risky dive and combines art rock with jazz & indie-pop in an array of original music. On the album ‘Get Out of Town’, Koller celebrates the music of Cole Porter in her own distinct way. She mixes R&B, neo-soul, traditional swing and acoustic jazz sounds in a tight 8 song compendium of Porter’s music.

Her music evolution from her debut album up til now is consistently appealing and refreshing. Backed by her warm and radiant voice, Koller’s music shines brightly and will for many years to come.
